Driver Hire Benevolent Fund
The Driver Hire Benevolent Fund is for the benefit of our drivers in their time of need.
Our drivers are our lifeblood and we are proud to be able to support them in this way.
Andrew Padgett, Driver Hire Ashford, Trustee leader writes:
‘The Benevolent Fund Trustees feel that the time is now right to raise the profile of the Fund within the Network, highlighting it’s work and the need for greater resourcing of the Fund to carry out that work.
The Driver Hire Benevolent Fund was set up by franchisees, to be administered by franchisees and for the benefit of those that work within the Driver Hire Network.
The Fund has been around since 2004/2005 and in those 11 years has paid over £38,000 across more than 50 claims. The awards made have been to those Driver Hire drivers and their families who have suffered injury and sometimes the death of their principle bread winner.
The Trustees have had to make difficult decisions when considering cases submitted to them because limited funds mean that we have to limit awards to those cases that are the most extreme.’
Many franchisees are working hard to raise money for the Benevolent Fund.
